Grace and Caleb eventually became more than partners.

Their relationship developed slowly.

“What would you have done if the land really was dead?”

Caleb laughed.

“I don’t know.”

“Would you still have bought it?”

“Probably.”

“You’re insane.”

She smiled.

“More than I expected.”

Grace stepped closer.

She laughed softly.

The sunset painted the valley gold.
