The Billionaire CEO Rejected Every Man for One Single Dad — Until Her Sister Revealed Why She Could Never Forget Him
Chapter 9
Ethan began spending more time at Victoria’s house.
Not romantically at first.
Family dinners.
School events.
Weekend breakfasts.
Noah loved it.
One Saturday morning, he asked:
“Why are you always here?”
Victoria laughed.
“Because your dad keeps inviting me.”
Ethan looked offended.
“I do not.”
Noah smiled.
“Then why?”
Victoria crouched beside him.
“Because I like being here.”
Noah nodded.
“Good.”
He returned to his cereal.
Ethan and Victoria exchanged a look.
Later, Victoria asked:
“What does he know about his mother?”
“Everything appropriate for his age.”
“Will you tell him about me?”
“I already did.”
She smiled.
“What did you say?”
“That you’re someone I loved a long time ago.”
“And?”
“He said that explains why you act weird around me.”
Victoria laughed.
“I like him.”
Ethan smiled.
Then the past returned.
Victoria’s father’s former attorney came forward with another file.
It showed that Ethan’s family had been deliberately targeted years before.
There was even evidence that Victoria’s father had planned to arrange another marriage for her.
He had wanted her tied to a powerful business family.
Victoria was furious.
She tore up the old agreement.
“I am not his legacy.”
Ethan looked at her.
“No.”
“You aren’t either.”
She smiled.
“Exactly.”
