Her Father Called Him a Killer. Seven Years Later, She Discovered He Went to Prison for Her.
CHAPTER 11
Three weeks later, Adrian took Eleanor back to the place where they first met.
The boxing gym had been renovated.
New windows.
New floor.
New equipment.
But the old ring remained.
Eleanor looked around.
“You did this?”
Adrian nodded.
“With what money?”
“Your grandfather’s trust?”
She laughed.
“No.”
He smiled.
“I had savings.”
“You spent your savings on a gym?”
“Not just a gym.”
Children were training in the ring.
Teenagers.
Young fighters.
Some had nowhere else to go.
Adrian looked at them.
“I know what it’s like when nobody gives you a chance.”
Eleanor watched him.
“You’ve changed.”
“No.”
He looked at her.
“I finally stopped pretending I hadn’t.”
That night, they walked outside.
The city lights reflected against the wet pavement.
Eleanor stopped.
“Adrian.”
He turned.
She held the old photograph.
“I found something.”
“What?”
“The back.”
He frowned.
She showed him.
There was another line beneath his handwriting.
A sentence they had never seen.
When the boy turns eighteen, the trust becomes irreversible.
Adrian’s face changed.
“Noah’s birthday.”
“Tomorrow.”
They both realized what it meant.
Richard’s final appeal would be heard in the morning.
If Noah became legal owner, the Vale empire would permanently leave Richard’s control.
But someone was still trying to stop it.
The phone rang.
Eleanor answered.
A voice whispered:
“Come to the old arena.”
“Who is this?”
“Someone who knows what happened to Marcus.”
The call ended.
Adrian stared at her.
“You’re not going.”
“I’m going.”
“I’ll come.”
They arrived at the arena just before midnight.
The building was empty.
Then the lights turned on.
A man stepped from the shadows.
The arena owner.
The man who had helped frame Adrian seven years earlier.
He held a folder.
“I kept the original footage.”
Eleanor froze.
“Why?”
“Because I knew one day Jonathan would come for me.”
He handed Adrian the folder.
Inside was the missing security footage.
The footage showed Marcus entering the ring.
Then a second man entering through the back door.
Jonathan.
He handed Marcus something.
A flash drive.
Then the lights went out.
When they came back, Marcus was already dead.
But the footage showed something else.
Adrian hadn’t killed him.
Marcus had been stabbed before the fight.
He had entered the ring already dying.
The man responsible wasn’t Adrian.
It was Jonathan.
Eleanor closed her eyes.
Seven years.
A lie.
One final piece of evidence.
The truth was finally complete.
But when they returned home…
Noah was gone.
