CEO Made Her Nephew Lead Mechanic Over a Single Dad—Then the Whole Crew Walked Out

Chapter 12

The board meeting began at nine.

Claire stood at the head of the table.

Twenty directors stared at her.

Several had already heard rumors.

Ronan Vale sat near the back.

He had no official board seat.

But his presence alone made people nervous.

Claire placed the briefcase on the table.

“I’m going to tell you something my father hid for six years.”

The room went silent.

She explained the secret deal.

The shell companies.

The brake sabotage.

The financial manipulation.

The hidden ownership transfers.

And the role of her uncle.

Nathan sat beside her.

Tyler stood behind him.

Ronan listened without moving.

When Claire finished, he smiled.

“You have no idea what you’re doing.”

Claire looked at him.

“I know exactly what I’m doing.”

“You’re accusing me of criminal activity.”

“Yes.”

“Based on old documents.”

“Based on evidence.”

Ronan leaned back.

“Where is Mason?”

Claire said nothing.

Ronan smiled.

“That tells me everything.”

He stood.

“You’ve lost your garage.”

Claire looked around.

“I’ve lost nothing.”

“Your mechanics quit.”

“They came back.”

The doors opened.

Mason walked in.

Behind him were Ray, Luis, and the entire crew.

Claire almost smiled.

The crew stood together.

Ray stepped forward.

“We’re here.”

Ronan looked surprised.

Mason walked to Claire.

“You wanted proof.”

He placed a digital drive on the table.

“Security footage.”

Ronan’s expression changed.

“From the garage?”

“From six years ago.”

The room erupted in whispers.

Mason continued.

“Your people entered the service center the night before the accident.”

Ronan stared at him.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Mason activated the screen.

Footage appeared.

A man was shown entering the garage.

Then another.

The second man was Ronan’s security chief.

Ronan’s face went pale.

Claire turned to the directors.

“That’s not all.”

She played the recording from the briefcase.

Ronan’s voice filled the room.

If Bennett doesn’t sell, I’ll make his company unsafe.

The board became silent.

One director stood.

“That’s you.”

Ronan didn’t answer.

Then Tyler stepped forward.

“I have something too.”

He handed Claire a file.

“My father kept these.”

Inside were payments from Ronan’s shell companies.

Not to Nathan.

To another executive.

The company’s former CFO.

The person who had helped manipulate the books.

Claire looked at Mason.

“You found him.”

“Yes.”

“How?”

“He came forward.”

The CFO entered the room.

He looked terrified.

“I want immunity.”

Claire stared.

“You’re confessing?”

He nodded.

Ronan suddenly lunged toward the door.

Two security officers blocked him.

He turned.

“Claire.”

She looked at him.

“You think you’ve won.”

She didn’t answer.

“You have no idea how many people are still working for me.”

Mason stepped forward.

“That may be true.”

Ronan smiled.

“But?”

Mason looked at the police entering behind him.

“But now they know where to look.”

Ronan’s face changed.

He was arrested.

The room remained silent.

For several seconds, nobody moved.

Then Ray started clapping.

One mechanic joined.

Then another.

Soon, the entire room was filled with applause.

Claire looked at Mason.

He smiled.

But the real victory wasn’t the arrest.

It was what happened next.

Claire stood before the crew.

“I made a decision based on family instead of merit.”

She looked at Mason.

“I was wrong.”

She turned to Tyler.

“And I allowed that mistake to hurt people who trusted me.”

Tyler stepped forward.

“I was wrong too.”

He removed his lead mechanic badge.

“I don’t want it.”

Claire looked at him.

“Then what do you want?”

“I want to learn.”

Mason nodded.

“That would be a good start.”

Claire looked at Mason.

“I’d like you to come back.”

He didn’t answer immediately.

“On my terms?”

“Yes.”

“No favoritism.”

“Yes.”

“Crew input.”

“Yes.”

“Independent audit.”

“Yes.”

“And Tyler starts at the bottom.”

Tyler nodded.

“Fair.”

Claire smiled.

Then Mason said,

“One more thing.”

“What?”

“I don’t want the title.”

Claire looked surprised.

“What do you want?”

Mason smiled.

“I want to build the best garage in the state.”

Claire held his gaze.

“Then let’s build it.”
